Justin Sinclair has contributed chapter 20 – The Endocannabinoid System And Cannabis to Advanced Clinical Naturopathic Medicine.
Justin is a pharmacognosist and research fellow at NICM Health Research Institute housed at Western Sydney University (WSU), where he coordinates the Australian Medicinal Cannabis Research and Education Collaboration. He leads the scientific advisory board for the medicinal cannabis patient advocacy charity – United in Compassion since 2015, and has been heavily involved in naturopathic and herbal medicine tertiary education since 2006.
His scientific background is in pharmacognosy (i.e. drugs that come from plants), but his research interests extend into botany, ethnopharmacology, analytical phytochemistry, women’s health and psychopharmacology. He is currently a co-investigator on several medicinal cannabis clinical research projects and has presented over 80 medicinal cannabis lectures to medical practitioners, nurses, pharmacists and the general public since May 2016. Justin has published on the topics of cannabis and the endocannabinoid system, pain management and herb/drug interactions in peer reviewed publications and is currently pursuing doctoral studies investigating medicinal cannabis for the symptomatic management of endometriosis.
